+ Heaps of signed Body Finder swag thanks to Kimberly Derting!!!

Thank you so much to Gabby from Harlequin for sending me a package of goodies! After hiring out myself a copy of Inside Out, one arrived in the mail for me to keep along with the sequel! I’m so excited to get started on these since I’m seeing Maria next Monday! In the Harlequin goodie bag I also got another copy of The Girl in the Steel Corset, which I bought recently. So I’ll be putting this one up for swap or for a future giveaway. I also got an ARC of The Goddess Test, with it’s new Australian cover. I really love the US one, so it’s quite a change. It’s the same model as Saundra Mitchell’s The Vespertine. I loved this book, though, so I’m glad to have a solid copy of my own.

I also got a pleasant surprise when a letter from Kimberly Derting arrived in the mail! Inside were loads of signed bookmarks, a kind postcard note and some stickers. Kimberly really went out of her way to send me these, since she had to unfortunately decline an interview on the blog! Such a lovely lady. Lots of additions to my swag folder!

Last but not least, I finally have a copy of Forever! I’ve only been waiting for this book for… yep… Forever. I’ve already reviewed it on the blog and adored it, so go check it out if you’re interested!

In My Mailbox #21

The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross (purchased)
Fallen Grace by Mary Hooper (thanks to Publishers)
The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan (purchased)
Desires of the Dead by Kimberly Derting (purchased)
Lock & Key by Sarah Dessen (purchased)

Tiger’s Quest by Colleen Houck (thanks to Publishers)
Ingo by Helen Dunmore (borrowed from Library)
Folly by Marthe Jocelyn (borrowed from Library)
Hate List by Jennifer Brown (borrowed from Library)

The massive stack this week is thanks to a shopping spree with my friend Brett from Demons Read Too. I finally have the whole set of The Forest of Hands and Teeth now, and my Sarah Dessen collection is mostly up to date. Along for the Ride is my favourite of hers so I’m glad I have that one on my shelf now! I’m eager to read the others. As for Tiger’s Quest – this is from the lovely people at Hachette and I’m so excited to read this series, as mentioned in my previous IMM post with Tiger’s Curse. The two books look amazing side by side! A trip to the library was also good, because I found three titles I’ve been eager to read for a while now. I’ve started on Hate List so far!

Mouth-Watering Monday VIII

Mouth-Watering Monday is a new weekly meme started by myself (Brittany) at Nice Girls Read Books. As book bloggers, we love to admire pretty covers, old and new. This meme takes the guilt out of judging a book by its cover, instead embracing it and showing off our favourite finds of the week!

You can show off one or more of your most mouth-watering covers!

Sorry this one is a tad late (by Australian standards) but it totally slipped my mind that it was Monday! Anywho, here is this weeks installment of MWM, and I bring to you some more beautiful covers!

Jessica Rules the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey
Dark Mirror by M.J. Putney
The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I haven’t read anything by Beth Fantaskey (Jekyll Loves Hyde is on my TO READ pile!) but I absolutely love the cover for Jessica Rules the Dark Side. The colours and position of the models and text is so perfect. As for Dark Mirror, it’s all about the blend of colours in this cover for me. I also like the back of the dress. Kady Cross’s The Girl in the Steel Corset really needs no explanation – I mean, look at it! But I especially love the text used in this cover and the finer steampunk details woven in to the image. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is eerily beautiful; the text used is a favourite and I really want it for myself! I’m also a sucker for underwater imagery like this.
